(93) Los Angeles-born Nisei resident of Gardena and U.S. Army veteran, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2013. He is predeceased by his wife, Mariko, who passed in 1977, and his wife, Taeko Hazel, who passed in 2005. He is survived by his son, David (Cathy) Uyemura; daughter, Susan Vuolo; stepsons, Donald (Marian) Aoki of NV, Alan (Misao) Aoki of OR, and Jackson (Judy) Aoki; 8 grandchildren; sister, Shizuye Kawai; and many other nieces, nephews, and other relatives. 

 A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 24, 11 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, 2115 West 182nd Street, Torrance, CA 90504.
