He is survived by his wife, Kazuko Takeda; children, Denny (Elizabeth) Takeda of Oregon, and Nancy (Rodney) Nakamoto of Arizona; grandchildren, Michelle, Amy, Jane and Eric; sisters, Mary Tahara, Rose (Bob) Furukawa, Dorothy Matsune, all of Canada, and Kazuko (Shoji) Akutagawa of San Mateo, CA; sister-in-law, Kishie Takeda; brother-in-law, Sam Matsushita; and also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
