Hideko Aoki (85) passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 10, 2024. She was born in Hiroshima, Japan, the fifth surviving daughter of Tsurayuki and Masu Oshita. When she was 22 she met Jack Aoki. In a year they were married and together they moved to Los Angeles where they raised their family. Hideko was a teacher of Urasenke Japanese Tea Ceremony and an accomplished dressmaker and designer. She also enjoyed Ikebana and Japanese calligraphy.

Hideko is survived by her husband of 63 years Jack, her son Kenji Aoki and daughter Mari (Paul) Reynolds; grandchildren Kara, Holly, Alec, Garret and Kaden; sister Ritsuko; and many family members and friends too numerous to list.

A funeral service for Hideko Aoki was held on Friday, August 16, 2024.
