A funeral service for Hiroshi Shibata, 87-year-old, Los Angeles, Calif.-born Sansei who passed away on January 5, 2025, in Torrance, Calif., will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, 11 a.m. at Kubota Mortuary, 911 Venice Blvd., Los Angeles, with Rev. Shumyo Kojima from Zenshuji Soto Mission officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Yoshiko Shibata; children, Emily Blasman, Jeffrey (Caroline) and Kenji (Mary) Shibata; six grandchildren; sisters, Reiko Yasuda and Mieko Kawana; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
