SHIMIZU, Hitoshi (92) peacefully passed away on December 30, 2021 in Los Angeles. He is predeceased by Kiyoko Shimizu and is survived by his daughters, Robyn (Martin) Cohen and Patti (John) Heyl; sister, Dorothy Miyake; brother, Melvin Shimizu; grandchildren, Kevin and Ryan Cohen, Jayme, Karyn, and Shawn Heyl; great-grandson, Raiden Heyl; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A private funeral service was held on January 11, 2022 at Kubota Mortuary with Bishop Taisen Miyata of Koyasan Buddhist Temple officiating. In lieu of koden, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Hitoshi’s name to the Legacy Tree at the Venice Japanese Community Center.
