Kiyoshi Kumamoto, 96-year-old, Los Angeles, CA born Nisei passed away on May 14, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Mariko , nieces, nephews, and other relatives. No services will be held and the family kindly requests no koden or flowers.

never had children but had another family friend's son, Marshall Oda, who treated him as a father unfailingly. We were blessed to have Kiyo in our lives and there he will forever remain.

He was brilliant, fun, funny; would play games with us; have dinner with us; go to Japanese movies, Dodger games at the 7th innings at the Coliseum squished in his little black VW;
in the MIS; along with my dad, gave haircuts to friends throughout their lives; discussed the world, the state, the City of Los Angeles and all politics. Kiyo married later in life to a wonderful woman, Mickey;
Kiyo Kumamoto is one of my favorite people; I have known him since birth. He was at our home daily, even while attending USC in the evenings after work to become an engineer.

Kiyo, his nickname was KK, was an exceptional person. If someone needed help KK helped. We worked at the Daw&P as engineers. He will be missed.
