passed away at the age of 89. He was born and raised in Lompoc, California, and served as an intelligence analyst during the Allied occupation of Japan, 1946-1949. He worked for many years as an industrial chemist, taking early retirement from the Hysol Electronic Chemicals Division of the Dexter Corporation. Koji was an instructor at Norwalk Kendo Dojo, reaching the rank of 6-dan. He is survived by his loving wife, Kazumi; son Thomas (Sheila); son Raymond; daughter Laurie; son Dean (Jan); seven grandchildren; sister Chieko Iida (Ted); brother-in-law Tomio Uwate (Maya); and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2015 at 1:00PM at the Orange County Buddhist Church, 909 South Dale Avenue, Anaheim, CA.
