A private funeral service for Masako Tamae, 94 year-old, Okinawa, Japan born Issei, who peacefully passed away on February 12, 2013 in Torrance, was held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Kubota Nikkei Mortuary with Bishop Taisen Miyata of Koyasan Buddhist Temple officiating.

She is survived by her children, Mitzi (George) Akamine, Hiroko (Yoji) Niho, Richard (Momoko) and Paul (Hide) Tamae; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister, Sueko (Ichiro) Moroga of Japan; in-laws, Jean Kawakone, Betty Ganik of Hawaii, Clara Uyema, Seiki (Yoko), Grace and Robert Tamae; also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
