A private funeral service for Mutsuo Ushirogata, 92-year-old, Kagoshima, Japan-born Issei, who passed away on January 25, 2024, in Los Angeles, was held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Senshin Buddhist Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Yukie Ushirogata; children, Ted Ushirogata and Marie (Alvin) Lo; grandchildren, Tori Ushirogata, Kanami, Kaiana and Genji Lo; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives in the U.S. and Japan.
