(98) peacefully passed away on April 3, 2013 in Torrance. She is predeceased by her husband, James Susumu and daughters, Joyce Yukiko Akutagawa and Nancy Sumiko Phy, and survived by daughter, Marilyne (John) McCall; grandchildren, John (Suzie), Michael (Dina) and Dan (Nadia) McCall, Scott (Lisa) Phy and Shannon (Brian) Berkheiser; great-grandchildren, Sean, Julia, Kyle, Caitlyn, Courtney, Katherine, Matthew, Lucas, Kelly, Benjamin, Maya, and Patrick; sisters-in-law, Chiyeko and Fumie Furushima, Kiyo Yoshioka, Itsu Yamada, Jackie (George) Masaki and Fumi Akutagawa; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She taught us all how to live our lives by example. We are blessed to have had her in our lives and will forever treasure her memory.
