Ruth Kono, 104 1/2, resident of Los Angeles, passed away peacefully at her home on August 29, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Kono; her sister, Annie May Umeta; nieces, Karen (Kenny) Imai and Julie (Michio) Shimohata; nephews, Toshi (Beth) Nakamura, Kenny Kono, and Bob (Chris) Shinmori; grandnephews, Eric Shimohata and Brian (Sasha) Shimohata; grandnieces, Aileen (Tyler) Ruebensaal, Cindy (Shoki) Hioki, and Shelley Kono; and great-grandnieces, Emi Ruebensaal and Mia Hioki; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Private viewing was held on September 18, 2024, at Kubota Mortuary and burial was held at Inglewood Park Cemetery.
