A funeral service for Takako Yamashiro, 91-year-old, CA-born Nisei who passed away on May 6, 2024 was held on Friday, May at Gardena Buddhist Church with Rev. John Iwohara officiating.

She is the widow of Haruo Yamashiro and survived by her sons, Dennis, Chris (Margaret), and Stuart Yamashiro, daughter, Amy (John) McLaughlin-Yamashiro of Arlington, VA; grandchildren, Richard, Denise, Andrew, and Lindsey Yamashiro, William McLaughlin-Yamashiro, Brittney Morrison and Tarin (Melina) Casillas; great-grandchildren, Mariko Cutts-Yamashiro, Reignard Yamashiro, and Daniel and Catalina Casillas; also survived by other family members.
