Toshiko Kubo, 95-year-old Kagoshima, Japan native, passed away on February 19, 2025. Toshiko founded and managed O-Sho Restaurant, one of the first sushi restaurants in West L.A. She was a talented cook, seamstress, and gardener. Her greatest joy in life was being a “Ba-chan.”

Toshiko is survived by her children, Robert (Barbara) Kubo, Masayo (Dean) Allen; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and family relatives. A private outdoor memorial service was held on March 22, 2025, at Inglewood Park Cemetery.
