A private funeral service for Yoko Kato, 81 year-old, Akita, Japan born Issei, who passed away on March 24, 2015 in Downey, was held on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Center. 

She is survived by her husband, George Kato; children, Eugene (Jima) and Mark (Christina) Kato; six grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marie (James) Yoshinaga; nieces, Naomi (Dr. Lester) Padilla and Yumi (Dr. Donald) Pick; also survived by her brother, sisters, nieces, nephews and other relatives in Japan.
